How to find your Google review link

Google gives every claimed Business Profile a unique review link. Open your listing, go to the reviews area, and copy Ask for reviews. That URL opens a star-rating screen. Share it in a follow-up email or text so clients never have to search for the firm first.

Key takeawaysUpdated September 2026 · Brent Carnduff
  1. 01The review link lives on your Google Business Profile, not in Search Console or Analytics.
  2. 02Ask for reviews copies a URL that opens straight to the star-rating screen.
  3. 03Share the link after a good meeting. Do not invent reviews or coach the wording. The SEC marketing rule still applies.
  4. 04This page ranks for the how-to query. The engagement that actually collects reviews is /reputation-management.

Copy the link from your Business Profile

Four steps, about two minutes, and you only do it once. The link does not change.

  1. Step 1

    Open the listing you manage

Search Google for your firm name while signed into the account that owns the profile. The management panel appears above the results.

  2. Step 2

    Find Ask for reviews

On desktop it sits in the reviews module of the panel. In the Google Business Profile app, it is under Reviews.

  3. Step 3

    Copy the URL

The page it opens shows only the star picker and a comment field. Clients do not have to find the listing first.

  4. Step 4

    Put it somewhere you control

A short follow-up email template, a text, or a QR code at the office. Anywhere a client will see it right after a good meeting.

What to send with it

The ask

Most firms

“Would you mind leaving us a five-star review? Here is what other clients have said...”

Suggesting a star count or supplying wording is how a review becomes a compliance problem and, under Google's policies, a removable one.

What works

“Thank you for today. If you have a minute, here is where to leave a review.”

Two sentences and the link. No script, no incentive, no star count. Stop there. A specific, short ask converts better than a campaign anyway.

Worth knowing

Cannot find the control? The listing is probably not claimed.

The review link only exists once Google treats you as the owner. If the option is missing, either the profile is unclaimed or you are signed into the wrong Google account. Claim it first; everything else on the profile depends on that too.

Finding the link is the easy part. Collecting reviews that stay compliant, and turning them into map-pack prominence, is the work.

Common questions

Asked and answered

Is the Google review link the same as the listing URL?+

No. The listing URL opens the profile. The review link opens the rating form. Use the review link when you want the client to leave a review, not when you want them to browse the profile.

Can RIAs ask for Google reviews?+

Yes, under the current SEC marketing rule, with the usual conditions: the testimonial is not misleading, required disclosures appear where you republish it, and you keep records. Asking is allowed. Scripting the review is not.
