Google Business Profile management for financial advisors
When someone searches “financial advisor near me,” Google answers with a map and three firms before a single website appears. Your Google Business Profile decides whether you are one of them. We manage the profile as an active ranking asset: categories, service areas, posts, photos, and Q&A. Not a listing you claimed once and forgot.
Five fields that decide the pack
Most advisory profiles were claimed once, years ago, by whoever set up the website. The category is wrong, the services are blank, and the newest photo is the lobby. Each marker below is a fix, and each one moves rankings.

Questions & answers
Q: Are you a fiduciary?
A: Yes, fee only, and in writing. Owner response.

Primary category
Financial planner, not Financial consultant or Investment service. The primary category is the single strongest relevance signal on the profile, and it is wrong on most advisory listings.
Services, named the way prospects search
Retirement planning, tax planning, equity compensation. Not the firm's internal names for its programs.
Reviews with recency
Count matters, and so does the date of the last one. A profile whose newest review is 14 months old reads as dormant to Google and to the prospect.
Posts and photos that are not the lobby
Google Posts every two weeks and photos of actual people. Activity is a ranking input; a listing that never changes slides.
Seeded Q&A
Are you a fiduciary? What is the minimum? Ask and answer the intro-call questions on the listing, before a stranger answers them for you.
What the pack actually looks like
We pulled the top three map results for financial advisors in 100 U.S. cities. The bar is lower than most firms assume, and higher than zero.
- 3
- listings shown in the map pack before the first organic result. Fourth place is invisible. Google local results

What's included
- 01
Categories and services
Primary and secondary categories chosen against what actually ranks in your market, with every planning service listed the way prospects search for it.
- 02
Service area strategy
The towns and counties you genuinely serve, mapped so you compete where you can win instead of everywhere at once.
- 03
Posts, photos, and Q&A
Active signals Google rewards, plus the seeded questions that answer a prospect’s real objection before they call.
- 04
NAP consistency
Name, address, and phone identical across every directory Google cross-checks. Inconsistencies quietly cap local rankings.
- 05
Insights and call tracking
Which searches surface your profile, and how many of those views become calls and direction requests.

This isn’t an add-on. It’s part of the work.
Google Business Profile Management isn’t a line item you can bolt onto a cheaper plan, and we don’t sell it on its own. Search visibility fails in the gaps: great content on a slow site, perfect technical work with no authority behind it, top rankings for a firm whose reviews scare prospects off. AdvisorRankings runs one engagement covering all of it, or we’re not the right fit.
